The lunar eclipse of Dec 10

A total lunar eclipse in Gemini on December 10 marks a turning point this month, a line is being drawn under the past, the new year of 2012 is itching to be born and the first faint intimations of all the changes coming up make themselves felt already.

Expect some totally unexpected news and developments around this lunar eclipse and the four weeks after it. What you discover in odd and roundabout ways affects your whole thinking and news of relatives, close friends, neighbors, as well as about your favorite celebrities and shows, quite possibly on the internet and social networks, could prove absolutely mind blowing in its unexpectedness. Learning to adapt to change and move with the flow is what is most important when the very scenery which has made up the backdrop to your life begins to change at a dizzying speed. On a global scale we have the markets in ferment, central banks frantically pumping billions of dollars into the system to prevent collapse of currencies, meanwhile Germany resists bailing out all those profligate southern Europeans who thought German largesse would never end.

It is worth noting that the Eurozone ministers assemble for decision time a day before the lunar eclipse, the only problem being that with Mercury still retrograde until Dec 13 it is unlikely that any firm conclusions will actually be drawn, this is a game of chicken and it would not be wise to bet on the Germans blinking first.

With the US realizing its own interests are very much affected by what takes place in Europe, it looks very much like a period of turbulence in the markets, but in reality they are always changing minute by minute, day by day, reflecting the underlying shifts in the world at large where nothing ever stays the same. It is just that we do not like to remind ourselves of this fact, security is what we crave in what is a very fluid and fast moving world.

News came this month of discoveries in the south of Saudi Arabia suggesting that mankind moved out of Africa some 100,000 years ago, far longer than had previously been thought. Back then the South Arabia was lush and rich in animals, our ancestors may well have been living off the fat of the land for a long period of time, echoes of the Garden of Eden may be a distant memory of this land of milk and honey.

But when climate change occurred, mankind was on the move again, a relentless push down the southern Asian coasts to India and beyond occurred. Also increasingly confirmed is the cross breeding with Neanderthals when mankind moved into Europe, by some estimates the Europeans at least have some 4% of their DNA from this source. Some of our customs, such as flowers at funerals seem to be Neanderthal in origin.

So our ability to change, adapt and move on has been there for a very long time. Even if we have largely forgotten our past. The dramatic events around the turn of the year will not present any great challenge to our more innovative and creative leaders. How will 2012 affect you? If you would like your own personal forecast, now is the time to get your order in, come January it tends to get very busy.
